Everyone wants to drum. No one can walk by a drum without being tempted to tap on it. Now everybody CAN play drums! I have 20 beautiful conga drums (tuned to 3 pitches) and a big van. My fun drumming sessions guide the group through basic Afro/Caribbean rhythms that can be played by anybody. This valuable group experience will be a lot of fun and participants will learn something cultural. Additionally it will be a clear example of teamwork, as each drummer plays an important part in the overall rhythm. I have taught traditional rhythms from Africa, Brazil, Cuba, Haiti, and the Caribbean at Connecticut College since 1994, moved to St. Thomas in 2008, and will continue to teach a variety of groups.
